Sneak preview.

Hi there! I am working on a couple of commissions at the moment and two personal pieces. One of them involves the Pixelbrush Challenge to recreate a master piece with ones own twist. The piece that I chose is one of my big time favourites "the Kiss" by Rodin, and it poses the extra difficulty to me that it is sculpture turned into painting, so I don't have reference colors and values. I feel that I have pushed my limits like crazy in this image, I've learned a lot, and I've learned that I do not want to paint that much foliage in the near future. Which has affected my decision on my next piece. I hope I get to finish the Kiss by the deadline, though. As a matter of fact I should be working on it now instead of writing here.
My other personal piece is for a challenge that a bunch of tremendous skilled artists that I meet every Thursday have set: to draw a naked guy, in nothing but jewelry and make him look very masculine and not gay. I was thinking of Oberon at first, but since the foliage is still haunting my nights, I'm thinking Egyptian now. The first super amazing entry is Liiga's beautiful naga, and many more will soon come, stay tuned!

Hola! estoy trabajando en un par de comisiones y dos piezas personales. Una de ellas corresponde al desafío en Pixelbrush de recrear una obra maestra con un toque personal. La obra que elegí es El Beso, de Rodin, y como dificultad extra ocurre que es transferir escultura a pintura, de modo que no tengo colores ni valores en los cuales basarme. Creo que he empujado mis límites en esta imagen. Aprendí un montón, y aprendí que no quiero volver a pintar tanto follaje en un futuro próximo. Lo que ha afectado mi desición para mi próxima pintura. Espero poder terminar el Beso para la fecha de entrega. En realidad, debería estar trabajando en el Beso en este momento, en lugar de escribiendo esto.
Mi otra pintura personal es para un desafío que un grupo de artistas super talentosas, con las que me reúno todos los jueves, han lanzado: Dibujar un hombre desnudo, sólo con joyas, que sea masculino y no que parezca afeminado. Había pensado en dibujar a Oberon, pero ya que el follaje todavía me acecha, me estoy decidiendo por Ejipto. La primer entrada maravillosa es la de Liiga, con su naga, que se puede ver acá. Y muchas más vendrán pronto!
